I had this idea a couple years ago of writing not necessarily scary, horror haikus but spooky ones. I thought I'd share some of my poetry here.
Haunted Haikus - One
Tall, dead, and handsome
He has the eyes of a star
And limbs of a corpse
She runs with the moon
Saliva like warm diamonds
Dripping down her chin
Blood, sex, and desire
He lurks between light and dark
A bite worse than death
Wait till the dirt falls
Before you return to dust
You'll disappear soon

"The knife," she said. "There."
She points down to the pool of blood.
"I don't remember."
Say her name three times
Looking into the mirror
She won't come ... will she?
You blame the monster
But is it inside of you?
Or on the surface?
