How is new HBD entering into circulation in 2023?
Back in the days, the main way HBD was created was trough authors rewards. But now we have a lot more option for creating HBD. We can now create HBD converting HIVE to HBD, this was not possible up until July 2021, when this option was enabled with a hardfork.
Then we introduced higher interests rate on HBD that is adding more HBD. Meanwhile the Hive DAO, the DHF grew to up to more than 20M, and in 2023 is funding more projects than ever. Another thing that is adding/removing HBD is the @hbdstabilizer, that is providing liquidity on the internal market.
Here is the shar of the HBD created from different sources in 2023 up till now.

As we can see the DHF has been on the top when it comes to creating new HBD in circulation in 2023 with a 40% share, then its the author rewards, the interest and the conversions from regular users, excluding the hbdstabilizer. The stabilizer on the other hand has been the only one on the other side, negative, removing HBD from circulation to a total of 4M.
When we sum it up we have a net HBD created in 2023 to a 2.1M HBD.
For compression in 2022 the supply of HBD contracted for -4.5M, while in 2021 it expanded for 9.5M.
We should put Rewards heavy to HBD in that case. This is surprising actually.

That posting rewards are the biggest source for HBD creation. But on second thought, obviously that's the case.
It would be best to make 100% HBD rewards. Synergy with the whole ecosystem is just the best.
Authors rewards are second in 2023
The DHF payouts are not really on my list as expansion, besides that common wallets have no impact on those.
