RE: [Sleep] Sleeping surface/systems, and why your western bed is not that good for you, and how did our ancestors used to sleep?

Let me know what crazy things you've slept on in your life.

Somehow, I don't think that sleeping on a bus with my head propped against the window would have the same benefits you mentioned, but I've done it!

Anyway, I'm getting ready to move to my first unfurnished apartment, and I've been thinking about what I could possibly do to get a bed since all I have is a queen-sized mattress pad. Your article is inspiring me to just forego the bed frame and sleep on just the mattress pad! It'll be much less expensive and easier to move, at least.

Oh yeah, sleeping in the bus seat is not that great. That's why when possibe I either sleep on the floor of the bus or over three seets (two on one side and legs on the one across the alley).

Yeah, just the saving cost will be worth it.
Another potential thing you can try is getting palletes.
And if you'd have a japanese mattress then making a couch out of it would look so amazing as well.
Though having just a mattress makes it easier to just lift up and lean on a wall and have more space, which for me is great.

Thanks for sharing these suggestions. I might try pallets or a Japanese mattress someday. Do you know of places where you could test them out? Like how mattress stores sometimes have tester beds out?

If you find someone who sells them then they most likely have a show room which is a great place to visit. So basically look up how you can buy a japanese futon in your area and look if those sellers have a show room.
That's what I did.

Okay, thanks for the tips!
