Raise your hand if you are prioritizing becoming a lifestyle resource in your marketing efforts.

What? Why not?

Well, you’re missing out on big time opportunities to connect and influence your customers. To put it simply, you’re throwing away a major possibility to gain more customers and create long-term customer loyalty.

Here are a few suggestions- The ABC’s of being a lifestyle resource for wellness brands- that are sure to help you amplify your content marketing.

Be inspirational in a way that will help your audience decide that your products will contribute to their way of life.

I’ve seen many brands that do nothing to show that they genuinely care about their customers. These types of companies come off as sales-y and will inevitably:

Annoy and frustrate your audience
Set yourself up as shady and untrustworthy
Make your customers so uninterested, they zone out on your website to never return again
Sheesh!

This does not work as a selling strategy. Instead you need to focus on inspiring your customers and clients. No one wants to be sold to. What they do want to know is that you care when they are seeking information. It’s one way to differentiate yourself and allow you to market to your customers in a way that makes them inspired to become better versions of themselves.

And don’t just stop at caring. Be passionate and positive and an active listener too. You can do this through engaging in blog comments or social networks by responding in a way that shows you’ve heard your customer’s concerns. This is especially important in the natural health and wellness industry because, let’s face it- there are lot’s of doubters out there that are really quick to discredit this field as a source for true healing. And if your customers don’t think your products or services will provide them with a positive change to their lives, do you think they’ll be inspired to buy them? Most likely not.

Extra credit- Take the extra steps to be a cheerleader. Inspire in a way that shows people they can accomplish anything they set their mind to. Being dreadful or too serious can take away hope or the desire for personal growth. You’ll also be more interesting too.

Be a guide, and make sure you are showing your customers you are understanding of their issues concerning natural health and wellness.

A lot of natural health and wellness brands aren’t supportive enough. Or if you think you are, you may be doing it wrong by “telling” or “preaching” to your customers there’s only one way to better health naturally- making it all about you.

If you fall into either of these categories, you’re missing out on a prime opportunity to:

To show your customers multiple ways to successfully achieve wellness with your products
Engage and learn from your customers to develop more well-rounded content
The opportunity to offer tailored content specifically targeting your customers concerns
Your customers do want informative and sympathetic content. I’m not talking about dry, boring advice about health that’s littered with jargon and sales-talk. I’m speaking about compassion and uniqueness. Something that gives them the information they need. Something that shows encouragement.

The bottom line is this: you need to prioritize being a lifestyle resource and be more than a product-making machine. It’s the only way you keep people coming back to your content that will eventually turn into repeat customers. This is hard work and results do not show up over night. If you are really speaking to the needs of your customers in a caring way, you will see your results pay off nicely.
