8 reasons why sleeping too much is bad .....

in #health5 years ago

Many people advise sleeping as much as we can, but that's not good at all. Apparently, resting too much is almost as harmful as resting.

Doctors recommend between 7 and 8 hours of sleep per night, but many people sleep only just 4 or 5 hours, and others more than 10. So the last time you want to sleep all weekend, remember this.

  1. You are more likely to be diabetic. Diabetics sleep more because they are more fatigued. But diabetes also appears more often in people who sleep more than necessary. A study in Quebec found that people who sleep more than 8 hours have almost double the risk of suffering from type 2 diabetes.

  2. You can develop coronary diseases. Sleeping more than 8 hours means that the body is not getting deep enough into deep sleep, which means that it does not get enough rest. Consequence: tired heart.

  3. You may be more tired. Again: if you sleep more than 8 hours it means that you do not get enough deep sleep and that your body looks for more rest. Those who sleep more often do not have REM sleep.

  4. You are more likely to have an ACV. One study showed the results of 10 thousand cases and reveals that people who sleep more than 8 hours are 46% more likely to have a stroke. The problem is that you do not know why.

  5. You are more likely to be obese. It seems that being obese generates more fatigue because it is associated with problems such as grief. Although it should be noted that sleeping too little also generates more cortisol, the hormone that accumulates more fat.

  6. You could have more headaches and less good humor. Sleeping too much alters brain chemistry. It decreases the levels of serotonin, the chemical linked to humor and headaches.

  7. You are more likely to suffer from depression. Sleeping too much is not an indication that you are depressed (only 15% of people who sleep too much are depressed), but it does increase the chance of presenting a depression at some point in life. Psychologists recommend that their patients regulate as much as possible their sleep patterns.

  8. You could die younger. People who sleep too much tend to die younger than those who have normal sleep patterns. It seems that too much sleep is linked to mental conditions and poverty, which contributes to decrease life expectancy. But it is not cause and effect.

Thanks for reading my post and do not forget to share so that more people become aware that they should not sleep too much and thus stay healthy.
