Who does not recognize the acronym ADHD or someone from the immediate environment diagnosed ?. In the last decade there has been an overdiagnosis of the disease that has led to a controversial debate among those who consider it a clinical disorder with important short-term and long-term repercussions, who consider it a total invention and those who claim that it's simply a delay in the maturation of the child.
The unknown etiology, the different diagnostic criteria, the absence of conclusive clinical tests for the diagnosis, the heterogeneity in its manifestation, the own culture and many other variables make difficult the desired commitment between professionals and affected. Meanwhile parents, educators, doctors, pharmacists must reflect: it's not so important the label of ADHD but the assessment of whether or not there's a correct adaptation of the child's environment, both cognitively and emotionally and socially.
