Does Green tea actually helps in reducing weight ?

Many people are onto this green tea associated weight loss. Does it actually reduce weight? What actually is a green tea ? Please give it a read. I will explain it .

Green tea has been taken by many people and researcher says that it is associated to several health benefits like reducing weight loss. This is because this has a rich nutritional and anti-oxidant makeups in it. 

Nowdays, green tea has increased its popularity in the west. Green tea has been used in the methods of Chinese medicine to treat some of the numerous conditions like headaches and healing wound.Recently, green tea has been linked with the weight loss in people. I have written this article to look at the surveys and claim along with the most useful and effective ways to intake the green tea which help in reducing weight.

Connection between the green tea and weight loss 

Process that coverts the drink and food into the usable form of energy by our body is known as metabolism. Green tea generally forces and helps in the body's metabolism in effective manner.So green tea has been beneficial for weight loss which actually helps in the body's metabolism.

Generally, green tea contains caffeine and also has some type of flavonoid which is called catechin. This catechin acts as a antioxidant. Various studies were done in this and some researchers says that both of these compounds can speed up the metabolism. Present catechin can prolong the metabolism and breakdown the excess fat present in the  body. Whereas, both the caffeine and the catechin can progressively increase the amount of energy that the body uses.  

Some reviews which was publish in 2010 found that the supplements of the green tea which contains both the caffeine and catechin has some positive impact on the reducing weight and management of the weight. 

Some recent reviews showed that the investigation in the people who were overweight and obese was treated with green tea to stimulate the weight loss. Progressively, it has some positive impact in reducing the weight of people but the outcome or result was not so significant and researchers concluded that this method of reducing weight by intake of green tea is of no such clinical importance. 

There are some theoretical basis of study where the green tea can benefit in reducing the weight. Some kind of empirical studies have been proposed to support these claims besides the clinical settings. 

But according to the researcher, the research study in this area tends to use the high proportion dose of catechin or caffeine compared to the doses found in a cup of green tea. 

To keep in mind that any benefits of green tea for the reducing weight loss are likely to reduce in low amount. The excess fat is broken down when you intake green tea but it is not so beneficial compared to the healthy weight loss by doing some exercise which has a far greater metabolic benefits. 

Execpt from having a green tea, a regular exercise and a healthy diet with plenty of vegetables has been highly recommended and benefited for effective ways to lose weight. Along with this, green tea intake can increase or donate to more positive results.  

How do you consume green tea ? 

For supplementing weight loss, about 2 to 3 cups of green tea is enough throughout the day. The exact amount for excess weight loss is different from person to person . This depends upon the caffeine intake by person and their natural metabolism of food and fat.

The packet of green tea comes in various varieties but for the weight loss, there is unlikely to be specific for weight loss. The richest nutritional content for the weight loss can be the green tea which is processed in minimal amount and is plain. These intake of green tea should be maintained and overdose shouldn't be taken as it can increase the risk for various disease in case of heart problem patient and high blood pressure patient. 

Then, What is Green tea ?

Tea packets and products comes in various different varieties. But these all are derived from same plant. The colorful tea as green, black, white tea are generally produced from the Camellia sinensis plant.

Green tea is produced from the leaves which is steamed. Camellia sinensis leaves are used.  The method to do the fermetation process for the manufacture of this tea s not same as the common tea or other types of tea like black tea or brown tea. It takes more of the anti-oxidant and nutrients which is found in the plant leaves.

What are the other health benefits ? 

Green tea has large varieties of different compounds. It includes 

  • B- vitamines
  • Magnesium 
  • Antioxidants 
  • Folate

It is also helpful in various ways. It is associated with various health benefits like

  • It improves in the normal functioning of the heart
  • It helps in reducing the cholesterol. 
  • It helps in managing the type-2 diabetes 
  • It acts as anti-cancer compound
  • It also helps in reducing the neurological disorder like Alzheimer disease.

Previous review on this green tea was unable to find the strong evidences supporting the green tea losing weight. But now, recent review had some evidences which suggests consumption of green tea helps in reducing cholesterol. But this evidence was according to the less number of short-term studies. 

So, nearly long-term and high quality studies is needed to confirm if green tea is beneficial for various medical conditions . 

Conclusion 

Green tea is a type of tea which is rich in nutrition and various anti-oxidants which has a wide range of health benefits. Further research are yet to confirm the extent to which it helps in reducing weight and best ways for its consumption. 

Green tea is not so harmful comparatively. It has been used from centuries and it can add to the positive results in exercise and healthy diets.
