Though each troll was named by the artist Thomas Dambo, he was inspired by his local crew of helpers. I don’t know this troll’s given name, but he is a protector of the forest.
Heads, hands and feet were made in Denmark, and shipped to the Morton Arboretum in Illinois where staff and volunteers constructed the bodies.
The project emphasizes the importance of trees 🌲 and uses all reclaimed wood.
