IGNORANCE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL….
Recently a brother in our neibourhood passed away, which was a painful exit for family and friends. As a future doctor I nosed around to find out what happened to him only to be told he died at a prayer camp and the family strongly believe he was a wizard. I felt bad hearing this but sensed there was something wrong somewhere. I told my parents the family is hiding something and as a Christian I was eager to understand events surrounding his deaths. Deep inside me I wanted the truth coz I was not free at all.
My bible tells me in john 8: 32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
After a week of investigation I was reliably informed that the guy complained of severe headache some few days ago and was made to self-medicate. Honestly their house is behind a very big gutter and for that matter I concluded malaria. Once I visited them and realized there are no plans to prevent malaria in that family. So I asked the sister whether the family experience malaria attacks and finally she confided in me, it’s very true. Then I asked myself, why is it that they did not take this guy to the hospital for proper medical care? Only time will tell.
I was in my house only to be informed that a fight is taken place in their house, since some family member do not agree with the fact that the sick boy was taken to the prayer camp for divine healing. Although the prayer camp belongs to a family member and most members of the family ascertained that people have be healed from that camp, this one was not going down easily at all.
The community as a whole got to hear of this and people begun to rain insults upon insults on the elders of the family. Honestly I felt bad for them but agreed to the fact that they deserve it. Two days later some members of the family were arrested over this issue and currently we are still waiting for the final outcome.
BIBLICAL FACTS ABOUT OUR HEALTH.
God told his children in Deuteronomy (23: 12-13):
"You shall have a place outside the camp and you shall go out to it; and you shall have a stick with your weapons; and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it, and turn back and cover up your excrement"
Here you can see emphasis on cleanliness. The lord wanted his children to keep their surroundings clean to prevent any infectious diseases. But most Christians of our time may see it as to be old rituals. If you read the bible carefully you discover that greater stress is placed on prevention of diseases and there is no greater wealth than this. You will find nowadays Christians acting so ignorant about their environment and putting the blame on demonic spirits and certain family members. It’s true when you read the bible in 1 Corinthians 6. “That we wrestle not against fresh and blood”. Most Christians give no attentions to their environment at all. Some claim it is the responsibility of the government since they pay taxes. some Christians prefer to go to prayer camps rather than seeking medical care first and fervently praying for the lord to heal them.
It is good as a Christian to be prayerful and seek the face of your maker in everything you do but I strongly believe that these measures should be taken.
MEASURES TO PROLONG LIFE
- Make sure your environment is always clean and you keep proper hygiene practices.
- Always seek medical attention from the hospital pertaining any ailment.
- It is important every family keep a first Aid.
- Continuously sensitize family members on good health practices.
Its indeed true of all the points you mentioned. There are seasons on live. A time to live and a time to die. A time to sow and a time to reap. There are time where supernatural healing is needed and times where God applies His healing through people. It is high time we seek the wisdom of God to discern the seasons in order for His perfect will to be done. What this poor family encountered is that they couldnt discern the times. Lets pray for wisdom everytime we go on our knees to pray.

B. take me to the church
C. i have faith in the lord , so leave me alone

Undoubtedly, your points really are valid. Christians these days have attributed everything to other forces somewhere in the planes, and in fact such is draining away their sense of thinking. They prefer miracles to the truth. They pay less attention or no attention to study the Word of God. But trust me, studying the word together with its results/outputs is like gari and beans mixed together. To me prayer camps should to play when the hospital fails. What for Caesar to Caesar, what for God to God.
