I know your post was from 3 weeks ago #doctorstrange, but you are mistaken in your view of flagging - which is NOT a downvote and should NOT be considered such. With the new interface in place, the following is the prompt brought up before flagging can be confirmed:
Flagging a post can remove rewards and make this material less visible. The flag should be used for the following:
- Fraud or Plagiarism
- Hate Speech or Internet Trolling
- Intentional miscategorized content or Spam
I understand this is a heated issue (for BOTH sides), but if you truly disagree with the stance presented here (or on ANY Steemit article) it is better to comment on it expressing your disagreement, refuse to upvote it, and (to your own potential benefit) make an article from the opposing viewpoint .
Claiming this article is "destructive" on top of your disagreement is merely your own opinion - and disagreements of opinion do not justify flagging.
Period.
To help demonstrate on how your disagreement is merely your own opinion and not fact:
ESPECIALLY for heated issues where sides are present, we're in a day and age where any scientific study can justify any stance. In regards to THIS article's issue: there are studies that show the danger and uselessness of vaccines - just as there are studies that show the benefits and necessity of vaccines. I know I could easily google both sides, and find studies that would prove both sides. It is a FACT that both studies are present... but it is only your own opinion that justifies whatever studies you choose to place your faith in (if any).
Furthermore, claiming your sources are the "trustworthy" ones while the other side's sources are "untrustworthy" is... a normal debate tactic. It does add credence in attempting to get others to see from the side of your own opinion - but that is all that it is and all it ever will be.
I'm not going to flag your post, even if I disagree with it immensely and feel that it is "hate speech" against the "truth" of... MY OPINION! Because! That is EXACTLY what you are spouting here - except with it being YOUR opinion rather than my own. :-)
Attempting to hide behind any facade of "facts" from biased studies (on either side) is just another debate tactic used to tempt the audience over to the view of your own opinion.
So let's just call a spade a spade here. Choosing to vaccinate or choosing to refrain from vaccination are FACTS. Any reasoning behind either one are merely OPINIONS. The prior is an action taken, while the latter is an inner dialogue of mental ambiguity.
I apologize if you think I've been a dick about this (though Dick IS my middle name, lol), but in my opinion following conduct is utterly important for the sake of the Steemit community and the long-term future of Steemit itself. Going around flagging people (or downvoting - whatever label you prefer) for disagreements of OPINION is going to create a cesspool of an atmosphere for Steemit. And I, for one, would like to see Steemit succeed beyond my expectations.
So I ask you, for the sake of Steemit, please get your FACTS straight from your OPINIONS. :-)
