RE: [Sleep] Sleeping surface/systems, and why your western bed is not that good for you, and how did our ancestors used to sleep?

in #health6 years ago

This is a really great article for newbies like me who feel prompted to venture off the over sized & under supportive hunks of crap we have been programmed to endure for so long!

I'm still on my achy first week which after a successful initiation on a thick soft foam zed bed.

Noticed that the floor beneath was warm and moist so chucked my extra thick yoga mat down with a duvet on top of that. Stiff in various places prompted me to add some nice soft blankets on top of it the next night.

Slept insanely well but still a bit achy where the body is getting used to weight bearing as it should instead of the muscles having to take the load instead = bad sleep.

The next night (last night) dragged the single luxury mattress topper off the single bed (now on ebay!) and was much less stiff but that could also be to do with more acclimatising.

Hubby is great at joining me with all my exciting new ventures in optimal living so will be nice to have my teddy bear back :)
