RE: Just Say “No” To Apeel On Your Foods!

in #health2 years ago

I do not think any coating can be applied to fruit, vegetables, or other food and that food still be considered organic. I am also certain that fruits and foods that are consumed entire, including the skin, are more severely impacted than are foods in which the skin is discarded. I do not eat the skin of avocados, or bananas, so do not wash them before I peel and eat them. I do eat the skin of apples and potatoes, so do wash them before I eat them. The addition of an artificial skin that cannot be washed off is unacceptable for produce in which the skin is consumed, and eliminates the designation of organic completely, IMHO.

Unfortunately, there are no stores in my area that do not accept apeel coated produce from my glance at the list you provided, so I will have to speak with local staff to convey my understanding and learn if their produce should be considered safe to eat.

Thanks!
