(Arterial plaque build up) 1 egg equals to 5 cigarettes a day?

in #health7 years ago

"What the health?" is a documentary from the creators of the Award winning "Cowspiracy" - Both films highly recommended. And I might do a full on review on it, cause the scope of its discoveries are so wide, that I think it would need a booklet to pass it on, but I'll try.
Anyway, today I want to write about a small part of it. You see, we've been bombarded with bullshit information by the marketing division of various companies. People who doesn't give a fuck about anything related to you, being it physical or mental health, your own and your family well being or your pet overall happiness. The only thing they have in mind is: How can we get this assholes to buy the product we sell?
So, remember the scene of Rocky downing a few raw eggs before hitting the streets of Philadelphia? Well, turns out you could picture our boxe champion pulling a few cigarettes and puffing them nicely in his kitchen.

I explain...

A Study of Harvard Nurse's Health found that a single egg a day, for 15 years, is equivalent to 25,000 ciggies!!!! or, 5 cigarettes a day.
The journal Atherosclerosis found a similar exponential increase in arterial plaque buildup for smokers and egg-eaters. Those that ate the most eggs had as much as two-thirds the risk of those that smoked the most—the equivalent of a pack-a-day habit for 40 years or more.

The USDA stated that eggs can't be advertised as "healthy", "nutritious", "low in saturated fat", "good for you" or even "safe"!
This is the USDA!!! with all the lobby!

So, if you quit smoking but fry a nice omelette every morning (I used to eat 4 - 5 whole eggs every morning), know that your anxiety every time you have a cup of coffee or after a meal it's actually for no avail. Yes, true you might be able to run a few more minutes in the treadmill, but you're still clogging your arteries.

This happens to a lot other stuff, milk is an example. We're sold suicide as long life. All for profits...
While this system still breathes, what we have as weapon is information and Steemit comes for our benefit, cause there's no censorship and no pre-established agendas.

I will leave the links with all the studies at the end of this post.

As a last consideration, I just want to say that I have no interest in changing anyones diet or promoting a certain way of eating. I just find important that we spread true information, specially in times when profits are made from misinformation.

And the Truth will set us free!
