omg i know. our entire health care system is truly backwards and fucked. I was thinking this even before Corona, how insane it is.
It really is messed up. I started looking into decentralized insurance.
It would make sense for the community to pool together funds (premium), and individuals can make claims for medical needs.
The difference would be that since it's not run by a company, there is no incentive maximize profit by denying legitimate claims for stupid reasons.
A community would be better at filtering out and approving real claims than a profit seeking company.
Etherisc.com has been doing something like this.
