Like the Alphabet, The letters in Hebrew are called the Alef - Beyt and they are presented on my blog from bottom to the top so you can learn them order, then to read them right to left. You will see what the original "Bible" said and what the names meant as they went through the stories of old.
Here is the letter Quph: Symbolizing the horizon or the sun at the horizon in the context of the cyclical revolution (revolving).
It is the nineteenth letter. It is a consonant and is also the number 100 when used as a number.
This letter is pronounced like a K in English for the most part.
In the verse below, you should be able to find the Quph in both occurrences of the verb "to call" where God sees that the light is good, separates the light and the darkness 'and he called' (v'yeekrah) the light Day and 'he called' (kah rah) the darkness Night.
I won't be doing an audio today. This verse is filled with words that contain the last three letters which you have not learned yet, Tav, Shin, and Resh. These last three letters are in many principal words that connect ideas like Alef Tav (eyt) which indicates the direct object. Alef Shin Kaph (ah-sher) meaning "that", "which", "who", or "whom" - the equivelent of the word "que" in Spanish. Indispensable.
Where we are so far
Only three more letters and you will be reading! Well, there are many you can read already.
Let's also start studying our vowels. There are five sounds for them.
Here is a chart.
- the square represents any letter you choose.
- the vowels are positioned as they would be in a written word.
- there are five lines of vowels - five sounds
On the left an English word that contains the vowel sound
On the right a representation of that sound.
They are nearly the same as in Spanish and in the same order!
I have to say that there are slight differences - one might be a little longer than the one next to it, but the sound is the same. There are also combinations that may extend the sound of a vowel. I will leave this chart on the next seven lessons as we go through more letters.
We will soon be reading so get your Hebrew Bible soon! Click here to obtain the book we will using in a few short weeks. It is a free download - or browser usable
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Thanks @hebrew
Have a great day
Do you study Kabbalah ?
I have read the 1st few volumes of the Sefer ha Zohar, Bahir and Sefer Yetzirah - these books actually help a great deal when looking for symbols and mnemonics to memorize the Hebrew Aleph-Bet and many of the words spoken by God in the Torah.
These are the 10 Sephirot. I'm looking for the letter Quph here .... Is it hiding ? I am wondering why a Quph is not used in the word "Malchuth" .... Kingdom. Seems like it would be a perfect fit.
Your blog is the best ever blog to know and understand the ivrit language and I am being to understand a lot better now.
@hebrew,

the sun at the horizon you nicely explained by using this image. Thank you very much for teaching us this amazing language! Wish you a Happy New Year too!
Cheers~
I wrote the letter and snapped a quick picture of it. If I wait too long, the ink soaks into the paper and deforms the letter. It was quite incidental that I added that shining sticker to it. The image needed something.
I love writing in Hebrew, but I need a better pen and nicer paper. I am using my kids' old homework paper.
wow its coool and amazing its the ancient language ... you doing great job by teach us the amazing language ☺☺

Hey @hebrew
I appreciate your work towards teaching people about Hebrew.
I just wanted to let you know that we have started with a new project for the Hebrew speaking users ( which you can see here https://steemit.com/@hebrewguides )
So as you can see, we are making a lot of process and we have tons of news members that have joined in the last week or so.
Would you want to join the community? we are friendly and we don't bite :)
Excellent - UpVoted - I will go join too.
Very cool. I am following and in email communication with Hebrew speakers in Israel. This is a great step for bringing more of God's chosen people into the platform.
God spoke to Israel saying
And I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you
I chose to be a blessing to the people of Israel long ago and my life has changed drastically since that point in time.
Hebrew is word of God.
Followed. Thanks @yairdd

Hello @hebrew sir I am just curious to know.... I s the Bible written originally in IVRIT and later on from time to time translated into other languages.
You are blog is just like a coaching center to learn IVRIT. Thank you.
I was not there, I study to learn the meaning of Hebrew and culture in which the tribes of Israel were born into. This helps me to understand the character of my Creator. My motivations are clear and focused.
are you from Israel or you just learn its by personal interest
it's been great to kearn from you one ancient language...

Yes. notice how the Quph goes below the line slightly as do some others. (forgot to note that).
Nice @hebrew...Best friend greetings from me to you @hebrew and happy new year .. because time is an illusion
Words with the Hebrew Letter Quph:
Mikveh or mikvah (Hebrew: מִקְוֶה / מקווה, is a bath used for the purpose of ritual immersion to achieve ritual purity.
Thanks to @hebrew I can now recognize these letters and begin to read Hebrew.
Here we have the Hebrew letters Mem, Quph, Vav and Heh. MQVH
And with the letter Tsade instead of Quph we get MTsVah.... מִצְוָה. (commandment)
Each Hebrew letter holds so much .... the most amazing Alephbet ever created.
The Word of God.

How beautiful are these Mikva. Are these in Jerusalem ?
These are in Italy.
http://www.italymagazine.com/featured-story/ortigias-jewish-ritual-baths
good work
Mikveh: used by women and men both. Special places in Jewish cities world wide, that offer private places where all prep work can be done, one goes underwater several times (very much like baptism) but this is to complete a set of rules related to purifying yourself after an emission of blood, or for men (they have a different place- in town) to go and fully immerse themselves after an emission of semen. There are prayers to be said and an serious private moment to speak and reunite with our maker after being unclean.
it's good one .. we can have alot of knowledge about the Hebrew and its culture and ancient traditional good to know... thank you for sharing with us
wish you a very happy new year ☺
take a look on my blog if you are free anytime
I usually visit the blogs of people who vote for me and comment. That is a customary thing here on Steemit. One need not ask.
thats is good so i can hope for good..
wow!!nice place to start to be pure....thank you a lot for teaching us about mikveh.....
Shabbat Shalom... another great letter we have " Received" for our Study of the Most Holy of all languages. Shalom Shalom
To Receive (Verb): To take or accept what has been given..... Hebrew: קבל --- Q.b.L
Hi @hebrew,
you really do a great efforts for teaching us and also about awareness of this holy and historical language. this language sound and our language "Urdu" sounds are much resembles to each other. Your today lesson for us:
The Letter "Quph"
in urdu "ق" ( Quaaf; ‘Qu’ is pronounced only as ‘k’)
Much interesting and informative post is this. I really appreciate and support your efforts for such a educational promotional activities.
Stay Blessed.
I'm taking notes! this is all amazing!
Some sources say Qoph represents the eye of a needle ....
"The eye of a needle" is scripture quoting Jesus recorded in the synoptic gospels: I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Quph.... the eye of a Needle. I remember reading that the word for rope was mistranslated as camel. But it is definitely a pun with more meaning than could ever be imagined. Remember it is God speaking in these parables.
Awesome. I am certain that Yeshua used all of these puns in his parables.... like the beam (Qorah) and mot/ speck)
Yeah ... No camel getting through that door. Unless they are a baby camel. Have to become like a Child to enter into the Kingdom of God.
There is an actual place called the eye of the needle, which is a smaller than usual opening in the wall. A rich man would have to take everything off of his camel, squeeze the camel through it, then carry all his things through the "eye of the needle" (a real place) and then load the camel back up.
More proof that the Word usually gives us a spiritual meaning, a deep meaning and a literal meaning.
its seems like there is many mysterious places which is so amazing i like this picture so amazing. .
you know quite a lot about your thing and what you wrote is quite interesting and fun to read.
PARDES : "Pardes" refers to (types of) approaches to biblical exegesis or interpretation of text in Torah study. The term, sometimes also spelled PaRDeS, is an acronym formed from the same initials of the following four approaches:
Peshat (פְּשָׁט) — "surface" ("straight") or the literal (direct) meaning.
Remez (רֶמֶז) — "hints" or the deep (allegoric: hidden or symbolic) meaning beyond just the literal sense.
Derash (דְּרַשׁ) — from Hebrew darash: "inquire" ("seek") — the comparative (midrashic) meaning, as given through similar occurrences.
Sod (סוֹד) (pronounced with a long O as in 'soda') — "secret" ("mystery") or the esoteric/mystical meaning, as given through inspiration or revelation.
Very good. I am interested in learning all 4 meanings of every word.
There are always these 4 layers to each letter and word.... but an infinite # of meanings with the Sod.
Thank you for yet another great and interesting lesson!

The Letter Quph .... related to the letter Tsade and Tsadik (Righteous)
קָד֧וֹשׁ | קָד֛וֹשׁ קָד֖וֹשׁ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת מְלֹ֥א כָל־הָאָ֖רֶץ כְּבוֹדֽוֹ:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory. (Isaiah 6:3)
Qadosh Qadosh Qadosh Adonai ....
In biblical Hebrew Qadash and qadosh are two different grammatical forms of the same verb ("to be holy": the perfect and the participle).
Qadosh: sacred, holy
Original Word: קָדוֹשׁ
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: qadosh
Phonetic Spelling: (kaw-doshe')
So beautiful.
