Another tool I am using to become familiar with Hebrew Words is studying the Hebrew line by line from the Torah with an English Translation next to it... Example from Genesis 1: In the beginning of God's creation of the heavens and the earth.

אבְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית בָּרָ֣א אֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ת הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֵ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ:

This way I learn the phrase for "In Beginning" is B'reshit and at the same time I am memorizing the Hebrew Torah .... I use the Chabad web site for this (Please note : I am not Chabad I am Metis - Ojibwe/Calabrese) ... http://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/8165/jewish/Chapter-1.htm
