RE: Pushing For A Rediscovery Of Hempcrete

in #hemp8 years ago

I would love to eventually redo the walls of my house with hempcrete.

One thing to remember is that it is not structural like concrete and really just fills the spaces that are framed out by other means. And in addition to all those advantages you mentioned, it also breathes, which ensures you never have moisture problems. And, as it breathes, it filters the air being exchanged!

Hemp is really one of the most amazing plants in the world! Just harvested some of my own yesterday, check out my blog if you want to see!

Thanks for spreading the word about the importance of hemp.

Actually...

Hempcrete IS structurally sound, after curing. Unfortunately it takes years for a full cure. lol Build your first floor and let it cure for a few years. Now build your second floor. :)

Ha, cool, and very interesting to hear. Thanks for the correction!

My Pleasure

I'm very excited to see hemp products beginning to really gain traction. Hempcrete alone will prove a game changer in the concrete industry for MANY applications. :)
