Isra Mi'raj is the journey of Prophet Muhammad SAW from al-Haram mosque in Makkah to al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. Then, the Prophet went on his way to sidratul muntaha to receive revelation from Allah SWT. This incident occurred in 621 AD, two years after the death of Siti Khadijah, the wife of the Prophet.
When Isra Miraj happened, Rasulullah was staying at Umm Hani's house, the daughter of Abu Talib. At that time, Rasulullah and family Umm Hani performing prayers in congregation. At night the Prophet visited the Kaaba. Drowsy, he fell asleep at Hijir Ismail.
At that moment, Jibril came to him three times and took the Prophet away. Isra Mi'raj begins.
Here are three things related to that event.
Buraq
Prophet Muhammad rose and stood beside Jibril. This revelation angel took him to the door of the mosque. There was a buraq, a white animal, like a horse with wings on the side where it moved its legs. His steps as far as the eye looked. The Prophet and Gabriel rode Buraq. Buraq is one of the creatures that exist in Heaven, Buraq is also a very beautiful creature.
Masjid al-Aqsa
Together with Jibril, the Messenger of Allah traveled to the north of Yasrib and Khaybar to Jerusalem precisely to the Masjid al-Aqsa. Later, he met the prophets of his predecessors, among whom were the Prophet Ibrahim (as) , the Prophet Musa (as) , the Prophet Isa (as), and other prophets. At al Aqsha mosque Rasulullah performed the prayers with the Prophets and the angels. When praying in Baitul Maqdis, all Prophets and Angels became the Prophet's Messenger.
Sidratul Muntaha
One of the oldest commentaries based on the hadith of the Prophet is said, sidratul muntaha rooted in the throne (Arsy). It signifies the culmination of every knowledgeable knowledge, including angels and apostles. Everything on it is a hidden mystery, unknown to anyone but God alone. In sidratul muntaha, the Messenger of Allah received the command of prayer and obliged to me all the people of Muhammad SAW.
