The California Gold Rush attracted people from around the world to the "new world". Some of these adventurers and mavericks of their time made more money than Donald Trump. But not all were so lucky. Many died and many just lingered.
Just like the people who came in search of fortunes the equipment they brought had mixed outcomes. Archaeologists have released a map of locations where old ships have been abandoned, sank and burned.
Between 1849-1851 this ship was used by locals. The ship, named as Niantic, was used as a warehouse, saloon, and a hotel. It burned down in 1851.
Great post, cool pictures too!
