A monumental tribute
The area covers an area of 1,500 square meters and is the largest monument in the world for Christoffer Columbus. As you walk around, you will find different elements regarding Christoffer Columbus and his historical travels. Among other things, there are the finely carved statues from the ships he used for the first trip to America.
The entire building is carefully decorated with carved symbolic figures, representing the discoveries as well as the coat of arms of the Catholic monarchs and other land members who participated in the expeditions.
Inside, you will see a large book detailing Columbus's discovery travels as well as several carved references to the three most important cultures of that period - Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
