Howdy sunlit7! Yes they think she landed on a part of the beach which is level and smooth but narrow and then it drops off deep into the ocean. They say it would only have stayed there a few days before being washed off that narrow beach into the deep ocean.
I think they were just trying to use the radio as much as possible because they knew the high tide would come in and they didn't know how long they could use it. I think they used it over a couple of days until the water got too high or the plane was washed off the beach.
They transmitted at night because the blazing hot temperatures made the plane feel like an oven in the daytime. They also did a little bit of Morse Code at the last.
A transmission was received by Morse Code which said it might be their last transmission because of rising water. But for some reason the navy ships and coast guard weren't receiving the messages except maybe that last code message but I don't think they could reply back so that had to have been very discouraging for Emelia and Fred.
Indeed.
I never expected to get a one word reply from sunlit7! lol.
Hummm....you suggesting I am long winded? lol.
lol...no I'm saying you're a writer and not like some (mostly males) who just grunt or on steemit they give a one or two word answer much of the time! Most women are better communicators anyway.
