RE: History Of Northern Nigeria [Part 5] - Jukun In The Pre-colonia Era

in #history6 years ago

The original link of an Arab character reappears, as you have pointed out in other cases. I suppose that the predominant religion will be the Islamic one (although I believe that you do not refer to that feature), as it is common in that region, reason why the identification would be more obvious.
I was also interested in the reiteration of the relationship between king and priest, very present in other cultures, as in the cases of the ancient Hebrews (e.g. Solomon) and the Nahuas (e.g. Quetzalcoatl).Your series on the ethnic groups of Nigeria, @samminator, continues to be of great interest. The Jukum seems to be one of the most warlike groups you have ever presented. Their condition is understood and placed in the light of history, but, in my personal and current view, I don't think that condition is laudable (nor that women participate in that activity).

Thank you for your post, @samminator.

Exactly buddy, the Jukuns are warriors and they have maintained that identity for long.
I've heard about the Nahuas when I read briefly about the Mexicans, but I guess I have to revisit it again.

Thanks for reading buddy
