RE: Emergence Of Nigeria As A Political Entity [Part 3]

in #history6 years ago

We knew the terrible consequences of this (absurd, I would say) confrontation between brothers. Until recently the war and hunger that devastated Biafra was one of the most painful emblems of post-Holocaust injustice, and photos such as those placed in the post (or more horrendous) circulated for a long time.
Any civil war (for whatever cause) is repudiable to me, even more so if it is a conflict in some way promoted or inspired by external agents or interests, or interpretations of these.
The imprint of the military boot has been (still is) nefariously in the lives of communities or countries in different regions. I am a defender of civility, of the republican sense, and I maintain, as a popular saying goes around here: "military to the barracks or to the borders". We have too many shameful examples of the conduct of the military in power. No more!
Thank you for your good post, @samminator.
