Heres your daily dose of History guys! :D So Basically the Pharos Lighthouse is a 400ft tall lighthouse and is also one of the seven wonders of the ancient world It is more known as, the worlds largest Lighthouse. This lighthouse was built near a natural harbor that connects the Nile River to the sea. This lighthouse is actually two times the height of Americas tallest Lighthouse (Cape Hatteras Lighthouse).

This lighthouse was designed to welcome people and to make a statement of power for the pharaohs power. This lighthouse stood for over 15000 years because it was held together by molten lead. The Lighthouse however was destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1480.

At night a fire was light, a normal fire that could be seen from 35 miles away!!! There was an intricate series of mirrors inside the light house that could focus a lethal beam of light to aim at ships that are incoming to the harbor. The laser however could only be used at a short distance (100-200ft). This was the first recorded use of a laser that was made more than 10000 years ago. They had the greatest library in ancient history under this lighthouse.
