I took this photo earlier this noon April,20 2018, Sunday around 1 p.m. when we are about to join the 5th mass of the day that startsaround 1:30 p.m. Nuestra Señora Virgen de Regla Parish/Birhen sa Regla or also known as Our Lady of Rule is one of the oldest church in the philippines located at near seaside of Lapu-Lapu/Opon City Cebu. We always make time on going to church every Sunday as the way my family is, They are so religious and they influenced us since we were young with my brother and it goes with our clan.
Wondering why Our Lady of the Rule was translated Birhen sa Regla?, The answer is the word Regla is translated as menstrual period but it was later explained that the regla rather refers to rule or order because menstrual period follows a rule of dates.
This is the front look of the Birhen sa Regla and as it has improved its structure from the way it is before but its whole structure still resembles its first look.
There are also vendors on the side and also some church services plus some massaging services done by trained people. You can also buy some prayer books and bible plus some relegious things on the side, or you can just ask all those hospitable church staffs that will guide you. Kudos to them :)
Nuestra Señora Virgen de Regla Parish
This photo is taken in 1910 shows the old Opon Church, which is known for its Virgen de la Regla then later corrected as Virgen de Regla. This church, however, was torn down in 1960 and replaced with what you see now in its location in Lapu-Lapu City. This church was built between 1735 and 1744.
I just want to share this sketchy pattern of title blocks , they really caught my attention.
The Nuestra Señora Virgen de Regla Parish right now is crowded with vendors and establishments.

Opon Church may have changed a lot from its original structure but the faith in God from our ancestors still remains and passed on from generation to generation.
