History is mostly written from the view of hindsight. But when we talk about future, we talk about probabilities. It's like a tree with infinite numbers of branches. When one branch gets 'lucky', the rest get cut down like the other probabilities(other than realized one) lose their opportunity to get their place in the page of history.
