As it is the tradition around here, we have the usual end-of-the-year dinner that is packed with all kinds of good stuff. However, this day I was also invited to a lunch with my girlfriend's family. It was a day full of food.
In my way back home from lunch, I was expecting some pork ribs and steam vegetables plus some kind of alcohol. However, I was not prepared for the surprise of this Santa Teresa Rum on the table. It is quite an interesting thing with its aging in coffee liquor casks. We did not open it, so I do not know anything about its flavor.
Dinner was quite uneventful. We just spent some time eating and then I went back to my room to keep playing videogames until it was time to say Happy New Year. Hopefully, these uneventful days will someday be changed for things that are also meaningful in different ways. For now, I count my victories in having peace and health.
