Greetings, food loving humans! How are you all doing?
Medellín is becoming a powerhouse in the gastronomic sector, and several events have taken place in 2025.
Today I want to tell you about Sushi Master, which is a competition among various restaurants in the city to see who has the most innovative and best sushi of 2025.
We had the opportunity to visit a specialized restaurant participating in this event called IKIGAI (look up its meaning it's a very interesting Japanese word). It's located in the Envigado area.
The restaurant isn’t very big, but it’s really beautiful. Something funny is that we went even while it was raining, but I noticed that this didn’t stop people at all, since there were lots of them waiting in line to get in.
The place had good electro house music, excellent service, and well, we ordered the sushi dish that was competing, called ROKOTO.
The dish included a drink, and they gave us chopsticks to eat with. Note: I usually eat sushi with a fork, so using chopsticks was quite a challenge for me haha.
🍣THE DISH
It consisted of 10 bites accompanied by avocado, an oyster sauce, and some other things I don’t quite remember haha. The presentation was beautiful, and the cherry on top was the squid, since it was my first time eating this type of seafood and I loved it. (It was the one on top of the sushi pieces.) It gave the plate a gorgeous yet slightly exotic look.
As for the price, we paid less than 20 dollars for both dishes, which surprised me. I actually wanted to order another plate because I found it affordable, but there were so many people that it would have taken too long.
Overall, I’m loving all these types of events my city is hosting for both residents and tourists. It boosts local businesses and keeps positioning Medellín as one of the best cities in Latin America.

Medellín se esta convirtiendo en una potencia en el sector gastronómico y han hecho varios eventos este 2025.
Hoy quiero hablarles del sushi master el cual es un concurso entre varios restaurantes de esta ciudad por mirar cual es el mejor sushi mas novedoso este 2025 .
Nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a restaurante especializado y participante de este evento llamado IKIGAI ( busca su siginificado, es una palabra Japonesa bien interesante ), el cual queda en el sector de Envigado.
El restaurante no es muy grande, pero es bien bonito. Algo curioso es que fuimos incluso cuando estaba cayendo una lluvia, pero note que esto no fue impedimento para las personas ya que habían muchos haciendo fila para entrar al establecimiento.
El lugar tenia buena musica electro house, excelente atención y bueno nosotros pedimos el plato de SUSHI que estaba participando llamado** ROKOTO**.
Este plato incluida una bebida y nos daban los palitos para comer. Nota yo me como el suhi con un tenedor así que fue todo un reto para mi poder maniobrar esos implementos jeje.
EL PLATO
Bueno eran 10 bocados acompañados con aguacate, una salsa de ostras y otras cosas que no me acuerdo jejej. La presentación del plato fue hermosa y la cereza del pastel fue el CALAMAR ya que fue mi primera vez comiendo este producto del mar y me encanto ( era el que estaba encima de los cuadritos del sushi ) y le daba un aspecto precioso aunque también exótico.
En cuanto al precio pagamos menos de 20 dolares por los 2 platos cosa que me sorprendió y bueno quería otro plato ya que me pareció, economico pero la cantidad de gente que había era mucha y ya seria muy demorado.
En general Me esta encantando todos esto tipos de eventos que esta teniendo mi ciudad para todas las personas que vivimos alli y para los turistas. Esto activa el comercio y sigue posicionando a Medellín como una de las mejores ciudades de latinoamerica.
