I have a very similar struggle to be honest. One of the issues I have with continuing with my book I titled "The switchblade", on top of the internet distraction is consistency. I started the book a few months ago and after blitzing through the introduction and building the character of the protagonist and some associated characters, my excitement and enthusiasm tanked. I'm still committed to the work and like you said, "thinking about writing" is not writing.
I say this is a good solution. I don't think I can afford this method, so I think I'll just try using a pen and note, and do it the old fashioned way.
