Magic The Gathering: Arena - Ikoria packs and gameplay!

in Threespeak - OLD4 years ago (edited)

What’s up, @threespeak! It’s a Saturday morning, and Saturday mornings during quarantine are for gaming. MTG Arena just pushed the pre-release update for Ikoria. I know nothing about this set. Especially with @caffetto closed, I haven’t had motivation to look at spoilers. I paid the $50 for packs and all the extras, and they were released yesterday. Looks like there are some great cards in red and green for Standard. Now that they’re playable, I’ll have to see what I have.

As I mentioned, I’ve been experimenting with camera setups. I bought a $400 Manfrotto tripod and fluid head rig, and finally, after a week, fixed my Nikon D750 shut off mechanism. It’s all good. I did a few livestreams while drawing this afternoon, but now that I’m set up here, I have to consider live-streaming games like MTG Arena or maybe some of the PS4 titles I haven’t had time to play in years. I see that @threespeak has function streaming capabilities and I bought an encoder.

Anyway, I wanted to take the new set of cards for a test drive. I opened five packs, and when I logged in, I saw that @tarotbyfergus was online. I decided to enjoy the slow start to the weekend and we played a best out of three set. Spoiler alert, I won. He did introduce me to the Mechagodzilla. A new card from Ikoria that really kicked my ass when paired with the Steel Overseer. It fun a lot of fun. I’m keeping quite a few projects in the air right now, but I’ll always make time for Magic.

game time saturday..

Congrats on the Wins! I am still trying to find a card game I can play and enjoy. Splinterlands has been great, but I miss some of the old ones I used to play.
