This is one of those truly standout Dark Fantasy shows out there, something that is very peculiar and not really following any specific generic structures you have seen before in anime format. It's oddly combining lot of western themes and then you have these japanese food stores and its like this odd combo that is not comparable to anything we really have in real world.
There is big cliffhanger in the end though....
