The total supply of dollars is not even getting tracked anymore. The FED only tracks the M2 money supply, which doesn't account for everything that's printed.
And then they calculate inflation based on the banana's price increase, which is utterly ridiculous. A price increase for food and other products comes despite the fact that technology made them cheaper to produce.
Inflation should be counted with the supply of dollars, like in crypto. With coins, when the supply doubles we say inflation is 100%. With dollars, we don't. It's been working for now but this it's all going to blow up in the end.
Almost every empire in history was crushed because of inflation mismanagement. Reading about Rome is especially insightful. FED chairmans and other economists don't care because they think short term. They have a short lifespan and need to get results during their few years governing.
The only real money is hard money. This crisis really showed me the value of Bitcoin, I did not expect the FED to be so evil. They must know it's not sustainable.
that was the first thing i thought Steem. Nobody can delete the connection between content creator and followers. First choice for business. It can be ruinous if Facebook deletes the company fan page.
Exactly the same for computer games.
I am 100% sure that the Path of Exile Community would love Hive.
There users create new builds for each season ( arround 3 month). These are viewed 10,000 times.
Most of the time, the authors of these guides get nothing. They like to do it.
But I am very sure that they would be very welcome to receive a reward.
My idea is, as soon as the on boarding runs better, I let my contacts play and do a little advertising for Hive :).
I am of the opinion that Hive will only really grow with computer players. And then piece by piece comes into the mainstream.
For 2 reasons, there are more likly to understand crypto. And there already now Digital stuff can have value ( like there online Avatar).

yes it is like Diablo 2. There is a lot of skill needed and thinking about Builds. About the game all 3 month pop up a lot of content about items, Builds, etc...
I think that would be perfect for Hive to onboard them
I think this is a Decentralized Finance Existential question. In reality things have value because we give them value. In the crypto sphere, just like in fiat land, crypto has value because we give it value. We buy it, we hold some, we give some to others, we exchange it for goods, we exchange it for services and we create utility for it.
Ethereum has value going forward partially because people not only believe it has value, but because you can use it both to make more money and to purchase goods and services.
In the same way Steem could have value and now Hive could have value. The beauty of cryptocurrency is that we don’t have to wait for non-crypto’s to give our coins value, we can imbue them with value through these forms of utility.
Plus we don’t have to wait for our coin to develop commerce, we can create utility or pay people to make our ideas about commerce and utility for our coin a reality.
So my answer is I will store my wealth in a crypto or crypto’s with communities who are giving their coins value by acting as if they have value, and creating utility for banking and commerce.
I believe in a decentralized blockchain true equality of financial opportunity is through developing the structures that support those opportunities of simple commerce and complex DeFi finance.
This is true the path to true freedom, through acquiring knowledge, planning and execution.

Good stuff man. Like you, I am only focused on bitcoin and hive these days for the exact same reasons. Fiat might end up being the true shitcoin.

That was my dad giving me advice when I was a young man. Daddy lived through the depression, served in the Second World War. Raised us foster-kids as if we were his own children. I will listen to daddy. Might not be sound financial advise, but works for me.
I believe people not having the real understanding to real value and like you highlighted in this video the future is crucial to recognising longevity and value. For me I believe in hive a whole lot I think it's just that prospect that ensures long-term value
As you say I also believe that in today's world we have to find better places to store value. I'm selling a house in Mexico and right now we are having trouble finding a buyer. In the other hand I'm investing in Hive, right now I may not be able to invest lot of money, but I definitely can invest time and effort to build content and to make connections.
Right now I have a little over 7,000 Hive, I want to to have at least 10 times that amount when 2020 ends. I think it's possible.

the other thing people forget or are not aware of: money only has value because we believe it does. A crypto can exist and keep having value as long as there are enough people who believe in it.
Hive has a clean slate. It can achieve more if we are smarter this time round.
My emphasis is always on new users. We need to take User Experience, Design and noobs seriously this time around. I have some suggestions on how to make 3Speak better. I will write about this to make it clear.

Had to write another comment to ask this, I would love your opinion on MimbleWimble. Have you looked into Grin? It's the best for privacy and fungibility, for node scalability (hardware costs) and has double the transaction capacity of BTC. Right now the inflation is huge, but originally the goal was to one day bring mimblewimble to BTC. It would solve BTC's problems with fungibility and privacy, cause right now if you know a wallet belongs to a hacker or Ponzi scheme company, the Bitcoins in that wallet are going to be marked for life. Who would want that money? If each coin starts trading at a different price because of its history it's not good for a currency.
I like the tech behind MimbleWimble, I always thought Bitcoin would absorb things like zk-snarks and other tech. Bitcoin moves pretty slow to get any upgrades, and for good reason. I haven't big as big of a bull on privacy coins because I just thought once Bitcoin is able to scale with layer 2 privacy features, the demand would lesson for privacy alts. However, it does take Bitcoin adopting something like zk-snarks or MW to benefit. Maybe one day lol

Spreading the content onto other platforms is important to spread the message, and reach more people, as I mention in my #freespeech post. The best is an immutable platform which is censorship resistant, like Hive ;) Eventually more people will learn about it.
Layer 0 = community
Layer 1 = Main chain
Layer 2 = Side chains
Etc.
That's very good but few people know, if only 3Speak has a feature that can translate conversations into other languages, it will be very good again because everyone can find out.

People are saying that the dollar will collapse. I do not believe that because the FED and the US government will always print dollars and enforce to us it and certain entities will always suppress cryptocurrencies but bitcoin is here and it will not go away and it is better to store wealth where at least we know someone cannot steal it from us.
The printing of the dollar is called inflation. That act alone is causing the dollar to collapse. Currencies must be stable according to populations according to Austrian Economics.
The problem is that people dont trust themselves, thats the main problem.

But i do not agree with your advice on buying cheap land in poor countries .
That is what crooked people do and use the people there for cheap labor too , especially in tourism and it ends up being disgusting exchanges .

I have been out of the loop for awhile. I see there has been quite a fiasco with Justin Sun and Steemit thus a hard fork to Hive. I think...
Anyway, I wanted to know if tokens forked to the Hive chain and how do I claim?
Hope I didn't miss out as I don't keep up with all the politics of the various chains.
