I do indeed do that, however, 66% of the world's internet traffic is centralised through google and facebook. Both of these companies are CIA funded via In-Q-Tel and basically are able to directly drain the taxpayer budget of the US. As Edward Snowden and others have exposed, they are essentially just wings of the various governments involved, dressed up as Corporations. You can research the RAND corporation for more on the history of all that. Clearly, competing in such a situation is not really possible as long as people don't consider the actions of these companies to be hugely problematic for their wellbeing. I therefore point out the problems inherent to the situation.

I didn't realise that Snowden had said those things about Facebook and Youtube. Did he say they're funded by the C.I.A., or just that the agency uses them to spy on us?
