Hope you are doing well and will be in good health. Just an idea sprung to my mind that if you're earning in Hive on Hive blockchain, then why not spend in HIVES. The concept is very simple and not new. We all have some stuff laying idle in hour house 🏡 but that could be useful for others. In such conditions we have several options to get rid of such items like sell and earn some extra money, donate to any charity organizations/individuals or keep as collectibles. But if you are willing to earn some money by selling your idle stuff, then you are at the right place.
How to use Hive Bay?
Here we made it as simple as creating a blogpost. Take some good photographs of the item you want to sell here, decide the price on which you want to sell that and make a post.
What to include in the post?
- Complete description of the item like how old is that, how is the working condition, why do you want to sell? Etc.
- Post must be in the community https://hive.blog/trending/hive-100710
- At least 2-3 clear photo of the item.
- Price in Hive as well as in HBD and either price is negotiable or not. Price Must be including shipping cost to avoid any misunderstanding.
- Countries or locations where you can ship the item.
- Tag the post with keywords like #hivebay #yourcountryname #itemcategory like art, gadget, software etc.
What buyer will do?
- Interested buyer can discuss the product in the comment section.
- Once the deal is done, you can ask for payment.
How the buyer will pay and seller get the payment?
- Once the seller decided to sell the item to a particular buyer, he/she can ask for payment.
- Buyer will transfer the HIVE/HBD to Hive Bay ID @hbay
- Once the payment is confirmed, the seller will ship the item to the buyer's address. For privacy, buyer, and seller can chat over any social media platform.
- When buyer confirm that he/she has received the item and satisfied, Hive Bay will release the payment to the seller. It may take several days, depends on the distance and shipping time between buyer and seller.
- Right now this service is completely free, so Hive Bay will not charge anything.
Last but not the least
If you are willing to give your stuff free of cost or only on shipping cost still you can make a post including the criteria for free give away. If it includes shipping cost, the payment procedure will be the same as above.

You have some big competition with @hivelist (https://hivelist.io)... Just saying... We have a full on classifieds community, retail store, NFT marketplace and diesel pool already up and running! We actually already own the hivebay account as well as had the hivebay.io address for a while until we were advised by our attorneys to not use that name because eBay is kinda nasty about competing names like that so we let the domain go.

Hey real question so I just checked out Hivelist and I was a wee bit confused; there was a classifieds tab but it was full of posts that were just regular posts and not classifieds. There was a store tab full of actual things for sale, it looked like all new consumer goods and not like, someone selling their old collectibles or personal art (with the exception of a couple of books listed). If someone wanted to sell collectibles or physical art, do they list under the store or classifieds? I assume there is some process involved signing up on the site rather than just making a post like this new one suggests?
If you want to just like things like one off stuff, that’s what the classifieds is all about. If you want to open your own store, then that is what the retail store is all about.

There is already a similar service on Hive, although i think without the escrow type payment. It's called #HiveList:

i saw a post from @logicaldude about a year a go who decided not to use hivebay name in case of potential legal issues from ebay.
Not saying there's not room for more than one service, just to let you know.
