I think that since this is a game, randomness can be part of it. Make the max a random number in a range that changes daily, maybe. Or whatever you decide! :D
That's definitely something to think about—generating random maximum points every day would definitely make things more exciting. I'll jot that down here and see if I can set up a poll or something like that.
