Hello everyone, this is my post for the Redfish Rally 500 Bucket list Challenge, week-2, May 2020.

The challenge of this week is to choose two or three places which I would like to visit, make a post about them and say why I would like to visit them.

The list of places I would like to visit is very extensive but I am going to start with two of the most beautiful places in my country Venezuela, which sadly I have not had the pleasure to go personally.

It has the Guinness World Record as the highest natural waterfall in the world with a total height of 979 meters, that is 20 times higher than the Niagra Falls.

The native Pemon Indians of the area call it "Kerepakupai Vená" which in its dialect means "jump from the deepest place".

As a curious fact, the rock formation of the Angel Falls does not contain fossils of any kind since its origin dates back 1.3 billion years long before the first traces of life on the planet existed. These are part of the Guayanes Shield, the oldest geological formation on the entire world.

The Angel Falls give rise to the churun meru river that empties into the Caroní river tributary of the Orinoco River, the second largest river in South America after the Amazon River.

It is the highest peak in Venezuela with 4983 meters above sea level. It is located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, Merida State.

It received its name as a tribute to the Liberator Simón Bolívar in a ceremony where a liberator's bronze bust was unveiled on December 30, 1934.

Due to its high altitude it was always covered by permanent glaciers, but today glaciers have been shrinking more and more and some have disappeared. It is not easy to reach its top since there are no roads and it can only be climbed by professional climbers.

Thanks for paricipating in the Redfish Rally Week #2 Tour Challenge. Have a great rest of your day.

My Venezuela has beautiful places @irionet that incredibly many do not know. You chose 2 special places, I would like to visit the Pico El Águila in the Merida State when snow is falling, it is another of the things I want to do, play with the snow. Greetings friend.
