This butterfly is mostly found around the grassland and considered a small butterfly. It is a lesser grass blue butterfly (zizina Otis), a native butterfly of Southeast Asia. This species first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1787. It belongs to order or group called Lepidoptera (scaly wings) and its physical characteristic can be seen by having two sub-marginal rows of crescent-shaped markings that are prominent on the hindwing. The distal band of the forewing consists of big black spots that are ringed in white. This butterfly is also included as an easy-found butterfly which can be seen flying around the bush throughout the day. So, here are some pics of the lesser blue butterfly (zizina otis) that I took with my smartphone and macro device a couple of days ago in my backyard.
