I found this spider on the inside wall of my house. It was medium-sized and had a brown and gold color. It had distinct stripes on its body and fine spines on its legs, which indicate its predatory nature. The body structure and behavior of this spider suggest that it could be a species of Lynx spiders, which are usually included in the genus Oxyopes.
These spiders do not build webs, but rather stalk and capture their prey. They are called ambush predators. This spider sat motionless on the wall for a long time, which indicates that it was either waiting for its prey or possibly basking in the sun.
This observation is a good example of biodiversity in an urban environment. Such spiders help to control insect populations, and play an important role in the natural ecological balance. This spider was left undisturbed so that it could continue its natural activity.
قرآن پاک میں اللہ تعالیٰ سورۃ العنکبوت (سورہ 29، آیت 41) میں فرماتے ہیں
مثَلُ الَّذِینَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللّٰہِ أَوْلِیَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَیْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُیُوتِ لَبَیْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا یَعْلَمُون
ترجمہ جن لوگوں نے اللہ کے سوا دوسروں کو اپنا کارساز بنایا، ان کی مثال مکڑی جیسی ہے، جس نے ایک گھر بنایا اور بے شک سب گھروں میں سب سے کمزور گھر مکڑی کا ہے، کاش وہ جانتے۔
مکڑی کا جالا بظاہر خوبصورت اور منظم دکھائی دیتا ہے، مگر اس کی مضبوطی ناقابلِ اعتماد ہوتی ہے۔ ہوا یا بارش سے یہ آسانی سے ٹوٹ جاتا ہے۔ دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ مکڑی کا ریشم (spider silk) اپنی جسامت کے لحاظ سے فولاد سے بھی مضبوط ہو سکتا ہے، لیکن جب وہ جالا بناتی ہے تو وہ ساخت مجموعی طور پر کمزور اور غیرمحفوظ ہوتی ہے — خاص طور پر رہائش کے لیے۔
مکڑی کی معاشرتی زندگی بھی انتہائی غیر محفوظ اور خود غرض ہوتی ہے۔ بعض اقسام میں مادہ مکڑی نر کو ملاپ کے فوراً بعد کھا جاتی ہے۔ بچے جب پیدا ہوتے ہیں تو بعض صورتوں میں ایک دوسرے کو یا اپنی ماں کو بھی کھا جاتے ہیں۔ یہ رویہ ایک ایسے خاندان کی عکاسی کرتا ہے جہاں نہ تحفظ ہے نہ باہمی ہمدردی، اس لیے قرآن نے سب سے کمزور گھر کی تشبیہ اسی سے دی۔
یہ آیت ان لوگوں کے لیے عبرت ہے جو اللہ کے سوا دوسروں پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔ جیسا کہ مکڑی کا جالا وقتی اور غیر محفوظ سہارا دیتا ہے، ویسے ہی اللہ کے علاوہ کسی اور پر بھروسہ کرنا وقتی دھوکہ ہے۔
