fascinating insects first post

here are some photos of a fascinating insect taken last may from our garden on the west coast of maharashtra, india. i don't know the name of this species but it looks absolutely amazing. my wife spotted this when she was out photographing birds and took this shot

she came back in the house and showed me the shot so i went out to see for myself. sure enough i found the insect but it had made some slight changes with it's wings which gave it an even more baffling appearance

it is not a particularly common insect but we had photographed one in our garden in 2017 and i have seen it in a garden in belgaum, karnataka where we were attending a wedding

i would be very interested to know more about this creature if anybody has any info about it.
added edit march 8: upon learning the name of this most fascinating insect thanks to @funferall i have searched the internet for info and photos of man-faced stink bugs. indeed there are many photos with different variations of the markings on the back but in all the sites i searched there were no photos nor any mention of the blonde girl with sunglasses stink bug variation. i am very pleased to have been able to present it here but i would add that i claim copyright on these photos

Wow. These insects looking so cool.

Hi @eolianpariah I did a quick search for the suborder heteroptera in Karnataka on iNaturalist and was able to find an observation from Bengaluru that fits your specimen.
It looks like a colorful stink bug species: Man-faced Stink Bug (Catacanthus incarnatus).
Thanks for posting and welcome to the community

yes that is the same for sure thanks a lot for the info and link.

in one photo the name is very appropriate but they also could have called it a Long-blonde Girl with Sunglasses Stink Bug

It is a beautiful insect, I would think it is a "Eurydema ornata", in my country we call them bedbugs, they are always very colorful.

@funferall looked it up on iNaturalist and found it to be a Man-faced Stink Bug
Catacanthus incarnatus. i believe that must be the correct and appropriate name for this fascinating insect. and i am glad to have learned the link to iNaturalist

i hope the resemblence was the face and not the smell
