Prachtwickler ■ The arched marble
Olethreutes arcuella (Clerck, 1759)
Zu den tagaktiven Faltern gehört dieser Prachtwickler aus der Familie der Wickler (Tortricidae). Der Falter ist mit einer Flügelspannweite von maximal 18 mm recht klein und kann leicht übersehen werden. Am Tag ruht er gerne an Sträuchern oder auf Blätter von Bäumen. Betörend seine Farben und unter den allen Nachtfaltern, zählt er zu den schönsten seiner Art.
This arched marble from the family of Tortricidae belongs to the diurnal moths. With a maximum wing span of 18 mm the moth is quite small and can easily be overseen. During the day it likes to rest on bushes or on leaves of trees. Enchanting in its colours and among all moths, it is one of the most beautiful of its kind.

Insgesamt konnten wir an diesem Tag fünf Prachtwickler beobachten. Gute Bilder sind mir jedoch nur von zwei Faltern gelungen. Man muss sich sehr vorsichtig und langsam nähern, damit der kleine Schmetterling nicht flüchtet. Das gelingt natürlich nicht immer.
On this day we could observe a total of five arched marble. But I only got good pictures of two arched marble. One must approach very carefully and slowly, so that the small moths do not flee. This does not always succeed, of course.

Das Naturschutzgebiet Mäusberg bei Karlstadt ist Hotspot der Biodiversität. Mit über 70 Tagfalter und unzähligen tagaktiven Nachtfaltern gibt es dort immer etwas zu entdecken. Unsere Zeit verstrich wie im Flug und nach 4 Stunden, stand meiner Frau der Sinn nach einem kühlen Eis. Obwohl es bewölkt war, zeigte das Thermometer 28° an. Es war schwül warm und eine Abkühlung war dringend nötig.
The Mäusberg nature reserve near Karlstadt is a hotspot of biodiversity. With over 70 butterflies and countless diurnal moths there is always something to discover. Our time flew by and after 4 hours, my wife felt the need for a cool ice cream. Although it was cloudy, the thermometer showed 28°. It was muggy warm and a cooling down was urgently needed.

Wieder ein schöner Pfad, den man mit dem MTB einweien könnte. ;-)
Wieder Pech gehabt! Auch dieses Gebiet ist ein Naturschutzgebiet und somit ist das Fahrradfahren auf den Pfaden nicht gestattet. Aber es gibt auch Wege, dort darf man selbstverständlich mit dem Fahrrad radeln. Du musst allerdings erst nach Karlstadt kommen. Der Weg hin und zurück mit dem Fahrrad reicht dann glaube ich schon. Da braucht es dann keinen besonderen Trail, um gut ausgelastet zu sein.
