This week the rains have come to my village, they have not been torrential; However, they have been constant, as have been these small insects that again have come to my garden, the first, a Soldadito, Membracis foliata as it is also known by its scientific name, a pest to tell the truth for the soursop tree in my garden, And although this insect is as it says a pest, it is still fascinating and beautiful to look at, last year we managed to eradicate them, but this year they have returned again, so we will have to fumigate again, since this little one not only attacks my soursop tree, but also wanders from time to time through the lemon tree.
This tiny monochromatic one looks at first like a kind of white fluff on the branches of the tree, then it turns to look like mealy bugs about 3 millimeters long and from one moment to the next we have the tree plagued with these little soldiers everywhere. So, since we are going to eradicate them again, I share with you these two images I took this afternoon.
The stingless bees or Meliponini, had disappeared from the garden, that was until they began to sprout again the flowers that in the future will become pomegranate fruits, of all the trees in the garden these are the only flowers that visit these little ones, they have no sting so they do not sting, but they are agile to get into your hair and drive you crazy with their buzzing and unpleasant smell, this is one of the reasons why in my town they are called pegones.
And is that, although it is rare to see swarms of these, when they feel attacked they attack their victim and get into the hair of people usually, I remember that on my father's farm there is a large hive of these wasps coming to the river, and whenever we pass by there we do it very quietly because at the slightest noise the only thing that can save us is to jump into the river and dive without thinking until we hope they leave, I also remember that when I was a child this was something fun; However, at this age it no longer seems so.
Finally, we have a side-spotted bug or hypselonotus punctiventris, a leaf-footed bug, common in Central and South America, of this one I have already seen on a couple of occasions on my plants, and I tell you that this little one has more than a week in this flower spike of one of the witch oregano plants, in the same place, I have checked a couple of times to see if it is spawning, because I do not find another explanation for it to be there against all odds, because not even the rain has moved it from its place.
Unfortunately, there is little relevant information about this type of insects, but I still enjoy their spots that create a really beautiful design. The insects beyond being sometimes somewhat annoying animals, the truth is that when we detail them become really fascinating creatures in the full extent of the word.

Esta semana las lluvias han llegado a mi pueblo, no han sido torrenciales; sin embargo, han sido constantes, así como lo han sido estos pequeños insectos que nuevamente han llegado a mi jardín, el primero, un Soldadito, Membracis foliata como se le conoce también por su nombre científico, una plaga a decir verdad para el árbol de guanábana de mi jardín, y aunque este insecto es como ya lo dice una plaga, no deja de ser fascinante y hermoso a la vista, el año pasado logramos erradicarlos, pero este año han regresado nuevamente, así que nos tocara fumigar de nuevo, ya que este pequeño no solo ataca a mi árbol de guanábana, sino que también se pasea de vez en cuando por el limonero.
Este diminuto monocromático se ve en un principio como una especie de pelusa blanca en las ramas del árbol, luego pasa a parecer unas cochinillas de unos 3 milímetros de largo y de un momento a otro ya tenemos el árbol plagado de estos soldaditos por todos lados. Entonces ya que los vamos a erradicar de nuevo les comparto este par de imágenes que tome esta tarde.
Las abejas aricas o abejas sin aguijón o Meliponini, habían desaparecido del jardín, eso fue hasta que comenzaron a brotar de nuevo las flores que en un futuro se convertirán en frutos de granada, de todos los árboles en el jardín estas son las únicas flores que visitan estas pequeñas, ellas no tienen aguijón por lo que no pican, pero son ágiles para meterse en tu cabello y enloquecerte con su zumbido y desagradable olor, esta es una de las razones por las que en mi pueblo les llaman pegones.
Y es que, aunque es raro ver enjambres de estas, cuando se sienten atacadas salen en ataque de su víctima y se meten en el cabello de las personas por lo general, recuerdo que en la finca de mi padre hay una gran colmena de estas avispas llegando al río, y siempre que pasamos por allí lo hacemos de manera muy sigilosa porque al más mínimo ruido lo único que nos puede salvar es lanzarnos al río y zambullirnos sin pensarlo hasta esperar que se vayan, recuerdo además que cuando era una niña esto era algo divertido; sin embargo, a esta edad ya no lo parece.
Por último, tenemos una chinche de manchas laterales o hypselonotus punctiventris, una chinche de patas de hojas, común en América central y del sur, de esta ya he visto en un par de ocasiones en mis plantas, y les cuento que esta pequeña tiene más de una semana en esta espiga de flores de una de las plantas de orégano brujo, en el mismo sitio, he revisado un par de veces a ver si es que está desovando, pues no encuentro otra explicación para que este allí contra viento y marea, pues ni la lluvia la ha corrido de su lugar.
Lamentablemente, es poca la información relevante de este tipo de insectos, pero no por ello dejo de disfrutar de sus manchas que crean en ella un diseño realmente hermoso. Los insectos más allá de llegar a ser en ocasiones animales algo molestos, la verdad es que cuando los detallamos llegan a ser realmente unas criaturas fascinantes en toda la extensión de la palabra.
