Ladybird is a beetle of Coccinellidae family. This insect is known by many names in different part of the world like it is commonly known as ladybugs in North America. But the Great Britain and other parts of the English-speaking world knows this insect as ladybirds. Actually these insects are not classified as true bugs and that's why Entomologists prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles. This insect became known as "Our Lady's bird" or the Lady beetle in Britain where the name "Ladybird" originated. German peoples calls this insect as Marienkäfer which is Marybeetle in English. The color of this insect is normally yellow, orange or red with small black spots on their wing covers with black legs, heads and antenna. But some kinds of ladybugs has different colors with great variation in these color patterns.
I've borrowed these information from wiki and I re-wrote in my own vision.
