Hello hive friends, greetings and God bless you all. Today I want to tell you about a beautiful little animal that I found in my wife's garden, known as a praying mantis.

Praying mantises can be green or brown with different shades. The color of the adult is determined by the environment where it lives during its last molt (for example, yellow, if it is dry straw, or green if it is fresh grass). It is the only known animal that has a single ear and it is located in the thorax. They are solitary animals except in the breeding season when the male and female are looking to mate.

Las mantis religiosas pueden ser de color verde o pardo con distintos matices. El color del adulto lo determina el medio en donde el habita durante su última muda ( por ejemplo amarillo, si se trata de paja seca, o verde si es hierba fresca). Es el único animal conocido que cuenta con un unico oido y lo tiene localizado en el tórax. Son animales solitarios excepto en la epoca de reproducción cuando el macho y la hembra se buscan para aparearse.

When there is more than one male near a female, they fight and only one reproduces. Females are older than males on rare occasions during and after mating, the female eats the male simply because the male cannot do anything since he gives himself over to mating and she is hungry at that time and the male is the closest source of food and therefore nature endows the male with the ability to continue mating even without a head. It is the same with spiders, except that the male spider sometimes carries a fly as a gift and is saved most of the time.
These animals also spend the summer hunting and growing and repeatedly shedding their exoskeletons and reaching heights of up to 15 centimeters. It reaches a year of life, during which they molt 6 times before becoming adults.

Cuando hay mas de un macho cerca de una hembra, éstos se pelean y solo uno se reproduce. Las hembras,son mayores que los machos en raras ocasiones durante y tras el apareamiento la hembra se come al macho simplemente porque el macho no puede hacer nada ya que se entrega del todo al apareamiento y ella en ese momento tienen hambre y el macho es la fuente mas cercana de comida y por ello la naturaleza dota,al macho con la capacidad de seguir apareandose incluso sin cabeza. Es lo mismo con las arañas, salvo que el macho de las arañas a veces lleva una mosca de regalo y se salva en la mayoría de las ocasiones.
Estos animales también se la pasan el verano cazando y creciendo y mudando repetidas veces sus exoesqueletos y alcanzando alturas de hasta 15 centímetros. Alcanza un año de vida,durante el cual mudan 6 veces antes de convertirse en adultos.
