Musk beetle
In this article I want to introduce a beautiful beetle that has been in my garden. If I remember correctly, I've only seen him twice, in my whole life! He is a member of the longhorn beetle family, and his name suggests a musky smell. This specimen was sitting quite calmly on an elongated petal and I was able to photograph it well.
The metallic coloring can vary, but here it is particularly beautifully designed with copper, red and green tones. With a length of 40 mm without feeler, it is a large beetle and cannot be overlooked. Unfortunately, his living space is now very limited and he has to withdraw to my property. Here he finds dead wood and garden waste piled up in large piles and thus ideal conditions. However, the development of the beetles takes several years and we will only see him again in two or three years.
Moschusbock
In diesem Artikel will ich einen wunderschönen Käfer vorstellen der sich in meinem Garten aufgehalten hat. Wenn ich mich recht errinnere habe ich ihn erst zweimal gesehen, in meinem ganzen Leben! Er ist ein Mitglied der Familie der Bockkäfer, sein Name weist auf einen moschusartigen Geruch hin. Dieses Exemplar war ganz ruhig auf einem länglichen Blumenblatt gesessen und ich konnte ihn gut ablichten.
Die metallene Färbung kann varieren ist hier aber ganz besonders schön mit kupfer, rot und grünen Tönen ausgebildet. Mit 40 mm Länge ohne Fühler ist es ein großer Käfer und nicht zu übersehen. Leider ist sein Lebensraum inzwischen sehr eingeschränkt und er muß sich auf mein Grundstück zurückziehen. Hier findet er Totholz und Gartenabfälle zu großen Haufen aufgetürmt und damit ideale Bedingungen. Die Entwicklung der Käfer dauert aber mehrere Jahre und so werden wir ihn erst wieder in zwei oder drei Jahren zu Gesicht bekommen.

Beautiful pink beetle! Wish you could propagate them! Expand the population of this insect! We only have the brown or orange ones from time to time!
