There are three basic things in life, namely: food, clothing and shelter. Whoever have these key things in place will certainly enjoy life to the fullest!

These factors are the basic necessities of life. But for this discourse I will dwell on shelter, which is the third basic factor or necessity.

Often times, people relocate from one environment or location to another. This could be as a result of work, schooling, family or other reasons. When relocating, there are certain factors one must consider before taking up that new accommodation. These factors include the following:

Finance: this is the most important factor to be considered when looking for a new accommodation. Most people take up an accommodation they cannot afford to maintain and/or renew after the first payment.

This usually happens when one is in dire need of a place to stay when moving into a new environment either for work or even schooling. With the urge and demands for a home , one is forced to take up an accommodation that may be too much to maintain considering one's financial resources. In most cases, the occupant gets ejected just after the expiration of the first rent paid.

Similarly, people also take up large and palatial accommodation to impress friends, colleagues and family members when they know that they do not have the financial muscles to sustain such an accommodation.

Closeness to Work: this is also another relevant factor to be considered when taking up an accommodation. One should endeavor to take up an accommodation that is close to his or her working place. It will reduce the amount of money spent on transportation and the stress and inconveniences faced when coming from a far distance to work and or school.

Security: this is another major factor to be considered when looking for ana accommodation. Taking up an apartment in an area probe to crisis, unrest, and stealing can be very frustrating and dangerous. It will even in the long run affect the personality of the occupant. Safety of lives and property should be paramount.

Size of the Accommodation: most people either due to desperation or miscalculation end up taking a smaller accommodation than necessary. If you have a large family, a spacious accommodation is ideal so you don't start thinking of relocating to a bigger one after roughly a year of moving into an apartment. Parking and moving into a new home is not an easy task really. So think twice before taking up that accommodation today.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Nice post and great experiential knowledge there :)
I know when I moved to the Big City a few years ago (spent 3 years there) for reasons out of my direct control, when looking for employment I set a goal to get a Job within 10k of where we had decided to rent, this was a very important factor due to not wanting to spend a great deal of time commuting, It would only take me 12 minutes to drive there and sometimes 30 minutes getting home, fortunately I was going against the Peak Traffic :)

Thanks for your kind words. It is nice to hear your own experience regarding the subject of discourse. I love your feedback too.

Good points you made here. I believe the rising prices of gas would make one grateful for living close to work. Apparently that's one factor my daughter took into consideration when she started working. She walks to and from work daily. That saves time, not to mention transportation fare.

An advance happy weekend!

Wow, that's good to know. With the present rise in the prices of goods and services one should devise a good means of cutting costs including taking up an accommodation one can afford. Thanks for your curation too.

Oh yes, the expensive accomodation factor! I remember arriving in Berlin with no job and nowhere to live (a long time ago now). I stayed in a hotel for the first few days. That is a quick way to run through your money!

Hahahahaha, you are right. And I do hope you probably got a decent accommodation at an affordable rate thereafter
