A's win back and forth extra innings battle with Angels! | They look to win four game series today with Luis Severino on the mound

Right so I was running late to begin with, shocker right? But when I create these posts I do often Google the games to confirm and review the finer details of the contest, and when I Googled this game it just doesn't exist on Google! I write a lot and was fairly burnt out the other day and so I thought I was legit finally losing it man! I could have sworn the A's competed in an awesome extra innings game with the Angels but I couldn't find it! I went on their team site and indeed yesterday's game DID happen. LOL. Phew, that felt really strange for a minute there! Felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something! I dunno why Google doesn't have the game on there! Weird.

But yeah yesterday's game was pretty awesome. It was very back and forth, with both teams having and blowing two run leads. Aaron Civale struggled a bit on the mound as he allowed five runs in five innings. He also gave up three long balls while the A's did most of their damage by collecting key hits.

The A's did get one clutch homer in the top of the ninth though which tied the game, by someone a bit unexpected. Jeff McNeil was that man! He hit his second homer of the year at the perfect time! Jeff had one season of solid power when he hit 23 homers in 2019 with the Mets but besides that, his career high for homers is 12 which he did twice. He's a strong contact hitter though. He does have a chance at reaching 100 homers at some point though, he's at 82 for his career now as he's in his ninth season.

Then in the top of the 10th Tyler Soderstrom hits what became the game winning single. Feels good!

The A's are back above .500 yet again as they look to win what has been a pretty tough four game series against a seemingly scrappy Angels team. The Angels only have 17 wins but they clearly know the A's well and want to win some games.

Luis Severino takes the mound today, hopefully he can find a groove. He's had a somewhat up and down season so far.
