RE: The Staggering Return Of Christiano Ronaldo To Man United: Logical Or Emotional?

@josediccus, I am a Chelsea fan. But I will look at Ronaldo's transfer from two angles. Business and sports. On the business aspect, no team will have the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Mbappe that won't automatically become a better brand. Just imagine Mbappe in Newcastle as well. So, on the marketing front, this is great to United and the Premier League.

On a sporting level, it is a 60/40 situation. Ronaldo at 36 is better than a lot of 22-year-olds. That discipline, dedication and professionalism is just topnotch. Ronaldo's failure in a United shirt would be a confirmation of OGS'cluelessness. Yes, any sane manager would play Ronaldo as the main striker in the Premier League, not as a member of an attacking trident on the wing. But my concern is, can Ronaldo adapt his game to play with his back to the goal? Pogba can give that killer pass, a loop over the defence for Ronaldo to latch on to. Bruno too would be perfect. But can egos be managed? That's left Ole to handle. How does Bruno handle being the main man to accommodate Ronaldo to take the centre stage of being the emperor again? How does United convince Pogba to stay in United for the long run? How does United keep Rashford and the English attacking quartet (Rashford, Sancho, Lingard and Greenwood) happy? What happens to the dressing room?

So in a United team that doesn't boast of a lot of creativity in the middle of the park, what does Ronaldo feed on? So that at the end, it wouldn't appear as a Greek gift. And if it happens, I don't see Ole in that dugout for long. The United dugout is one of the hottest seats right now.

All these are why Ronaldo's transfer, in my opinion, is a 60% probability of the whole idea going down south on a sporting level and 40% chance of being a success, because of the man himself, Cristiano Ronaldo dos santos Aveiro.

United is already wealthy I'm sure their fans wouldn't care if they're more wealthy. It's more about the trophy, money is secondary here.
