You're right - if i follow correctly - that England's performance in the loss to Italy was embarrassingly abyssmal with very few of the supposedly talented team justifying their exorbitant club salaries. It's long been a problem of the players who pull on the national jersey to be honest, and our recentish successful run in the last Euro's is one of the few exceptions to that normality, and are justifably being relegated to the next tier as a result.
As for Italy
not exactly true - they simply didn't qualify for the finals, they haven't been banned from the competition.
