Today I’m sharing my views regarding Indian Hockey Team.
After many decades, India is coming forward in the sports competition. The performance of Indian players in the recent Commonwealth Games is commendable.
Well, all sports are important but today I want to take you to the topic of hockey. Hockey is the national sport of India. In 1928, India won its first gold medal in hockey. After that, India maintained its dominance in this sport for many years. In 1947, India would get independence from the British Rule and at that time, the tragic event was that India was divided into two parts. Divided into -India and Pakistan. Along with the division of the country, India's hockey team was also divided, some players went to Pakistan. But even after that time, the team played very strongly. In the 1948 and 1952 Olympics, team again won the gold medal. From 1928 to 1952, India won six consecutive gold medals. After this, he won his last gold in 1964 and 1980. Meanwhile, the team also won silver and bronze medals. After 1980, the performance of the Indian team was began to its downfall. The players tried their best every time but did not get success. Government of India also has an important role in this .With India winning the Cricket World Cup in 1983, the government started giving cricket more priority than its national sport. With which the conditions of Indian hockey became worse.But for the last few years, the Indian hockey team got the support of the Odisha (Indian state) government, they sponsored the hockey team and provided facilities to the team. Thanks to which, after 41 years, India won the bronze medal in the last Tokyo Olympics 2021. Which bodes well for this game. Continuing the same series, today India is fighting its final match against Australia in Commonwealth Games 2022.
