The final week of the Belgian 2020-2021 Season is here with 4 more matches to be played and 2 of them still having some importance. The 2 Conference Playoff matches are being played both at the same time tonight at 20:00 Belgian Time. KV Mechelen vs AA Gent
Kv Mechelen takes 1st place in case they take at least a draw while AA Gent has to win this match in order to get it. This situation often brings about confusion for the team that has enough with a draw while the team that has to win has a clear mission. AA Gent was in a similar position at the end of the season in a direct duel against Zulte-Waregem which they ended up winning with a 2-7 score. I sure rater Mechelen higher compared to Zulte but at the same time have enough confidence in AA Gent showing up playing a good match. Mechelen also is without Vranckx and Peyre with Shved, Kaya and Storm being questionable while AA Gent can count on almost their full A-Squad. I did take a small pre-game bet on
AA Gent -0.5 @ 2.00 and will see how the match goes to likely take more bets in-game. I also took a tiny bit extra on
sportbet.one on
AA Gent -0.5 @ 2.01 in crypto as a beer bet given that their odds are good. Mechelen is not the team that crawls back so it should be an interesting match.
Standard vs Oostende
This is basically a match about nothing with Standard indirectly needing the win more to give at least a little bit of shine to their season while Oostende has done great overall being the revelation. The visitors are having a lot of missings with Hendry, Hjusager, Sakala while Standard also still has missing players with Bodart, Raskin, Bastien, Bokadi, Cimirot, Muleka. Overall I have no clue what to think of this match as it likely will turn out as a wide-open match with no fear . This is also what the total line which is set at O 3.5 is indicating. I rate the missings of Oostende as more crucial and I'm not sure if they can continue to put up with their high pressing game after a long season with nothing to play for. In that regard, I understand why Standard is the slight favorite. For me this is a match to stay away from, so
